Auburn Meadow Farm is a small Pennsylvania farm dedicated to the craft of extraordinary food.
One taste of a pastured pork chop from an old-fashioned hog, an egg from a truly free-ranging hen, or an old-world Devon grass-fed burger, and you’ll see why we are so passionate.
Sure, we got our start raging against commodity food systems, unhealthy processed foods, joyless lives lived by commodity livestock, and the loss of local farms and foods.
But being mad all the time is not our style. Turns out, it’s really all about the thrill of deeply knowing the taste of our Pennsylvania home. Funny thing is, what is best for the animals and the environment happens to also be what tastes best, is most joyful, and nutritious.
Good food is good care, and if price was measured by nutrient content instead of by portion size, one could easily see what a bargain well-raised food truly is.
If our kind of food sounds good to you too, be sure to vote with your fork, three times a day. We are counting on you.

This farm is home to..
spunky, old fashioned livestock…
…selected for hardiness and extraordinary flavor, not fast production or large, uniform size.
We raise American Milking Devon Cattle, Gloucestershire Old Spot, Large Black and Duroc hogs, Dewlap Toulouse geese, and a variety of classic farmyard hens for the most flavorful, nutrient dense beef, pork and eggs we can produce. We are small, and intend to stay small, so when it’s gone, it’s gone.
Small farms like Auburn Meadow Farm are not quaint relics. Instead, they are valuable sources of innovation and experimentation desperately needed in this time of climate uncertainty. Nothing produces more quantity or quality of food per acre than a well run diversified farm
I was a bit eye-rolley about this idea at first. GAL is one of those words that feels silly and stilted to say, and in my head, is always heard in Ethel Merman’s voice. I mean, I love my female friends, I love candy and wine, lipstick and treats, but Galentine’s was...
Grand gestures are showy, but quiet, small ones are sweeter. This week is that favorite day of retailers, florists and restauranteurs everywhere, Valentine’s Day. And while I’m weary of the commercialized aspect of the day, you’d have to be pretty hard-hearted...
